Project Management

Knowing what to do and how, when, where and why to do it is key to making things happen.  Operacy can provide robust project management so that an organisation’s strategies can be successfully and responsibly implemented.

A Project Manager trained in PK BOK based systems and as the Coordinator for a range of Victoria Police initiatives and developments, Alan will apply his breadth of experience as a project manager/co-ordiantor to ensure that outcomes are readily achieved.   He has project managed a number of innovative projects and developments:

  • Model Police Station Project – a two year full time project instituting change in the way police organised and staffed police complexes.
  • Community Cops Program – a team based initiative empowering police to take responsibility for a defined geographic area or sector,
  • Victoria Police Victims Strategy including the developing of e-learning capability and the Victims Guide Book, adopted state-wide.
  • Nexus Project, an Australian Research Council funded program involving seven projects across the state over 3 years, in collaboration with the Australian National University.  This was followed up with a highly successful international Nexus Policing Conference in April 2008.
  • Signal Crime Project – a initiative undertaken with Professor Martin Innes and his team from the Universities Police Science Institute, Cardiff University. UK. A computer based public participation model identifying community intelligence at a neighbourhood level which was run in three areas in 2008/09 and now expanded to a further 4 areas in 2009/10.

Operacy Director, Alan Kennedy, has set the standard in a range of aspects of project management and community engagement in Victoria and Australia in both the policing sector and the wider community.  With the application of his specialised skills, strategic thinking and years of experience and knowledge, he continues to set new benchmarks within the public sector ad Australian policing.

It is through the inclusive, expansive knowledge of the project manager that successful outcomes are enabled and achieved.
